Amazing Host, Amazing Views - 5 Star

I can only praise Peartree Hill and Avril. When in Belfast I always stay
here as the comfort and service is exceptional. The views are astounding
and the host goes beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable and
pleasant. I just hope giving up my secret of the location doesn't mean
Peartree will be fully booked on my next visit.

 

Four Days of Blissful Happiness

On arrival at Pear Tree Hill we were stunned at the awesome beauty of the house and it’s setting. Believe me, speechless is a rare occurrence for us.
Avril and Ian are exceptional in having a wonderful natural ability to warmly welcome guests and their desire to want to share all the beauty around, with you, comes shining through and in such a unique way makIng you feel so much at home. Nothing is too much trouble for them in their desire to make your stay as happy and comfortable as possible.
They are both excellent communicators and readily want to share their knowledge and understanding of that beautiful part of the world with you. We learned so much from them.
Breakfast each day is not just amazing but a fabulous experience consisting of the most delicious food anyone could wish for. Those homemade breads and toasts which make up a right royal Ulster breakfast are delectable. To illustrate this, on all of our four days with them we were totally robbed ,not only of lunch, but even any thoughts of lunch. That speaks for itself.
Pear Tree Hill accommodation is outstanding in every way from the luxurious bed to the three way variable shower head. Truly, heaven on earth.
Gazing as we did so often through the enormous picture window in our room ,we counted up to thirty six fields and pastures, some of which contained sheep and cattle stretching all the way to Strangford Lough in the distance.It was fascinating that all the fields displayed a different hue of green Truly representing “The Emerald Isle” in all its beauty.

We spent one night in this luxury hotel on our trip to Northern Ireland. Our suite lacked nothing: kingsize bed, panoramic view of the ups and downs around Dundonald through a glass window no less than 5 meters wide, an elegant and comfortable sofa, a large toilet with sumptuous lighting effects, refined products for the care of the body, painstaking attention to every detail. And then ... silence, a non-trivial circumstance. We thank Mrs. Avril for her kindness, for the patience due to our poor English and for the delicious dishes she prepared for breakfast. Ultimately a wonderful place run by very, very refined people.

Our stay gave us rest and refreshment and Peartree Hill B&B was a
perfect place to base ourselves while we visited family from whom we were
needing to social distance.
Ian and Avril gave us a very warm welcome and
made us feel at home inspite of careful and appropriate Covid-19
precautions. Our room was luxurious and serviced to the highest standards.
The views of Scrabo and Strangford Loch were amazing and restful.

Breakfast was delicious with home-grown produce and baking - nothing was
too much trouble as Avril more than accommodated our dietary needs.
We also looked forward to the daily sweet treats and even some extra were
provided to share with local family - which was generous and touching.

We're aware that by giving this review Peartree Hill may get fully booked
and we can't get in next time... but we are SO thankful for our stay and
for Avril and Ian's hospitality.

Wow cannot express how fabulous Peartree Hill was. I booked it for a
surprise for my partner's birthday. We were both blown away by the location
and the cleanliness of the room everything was spotless. The breakfast and
the way it was presented was perfect. Avril was so welcoming absolutely
recommend Peartree Hill and will certainly be back. 5 star plus.

A wonderful overnight stay at a stunning location and warmly welcomed by a lovely host in Avril.
Not one complaint whatsoever about any part of our stay....from the communication prior to arrival, the unfortunate but necessary strict adherence to COVID 19 regulations ☹️, our room and the breakfast. It was an absolute delight.
I booked this as a birthday surprise for my wife and as a couple in our early 30’s this was our 1st B&B/Guesthouse experience. It more than fulfilled our expectations. We stayed in the Ballymaglaff and it had everything you would expect from a 5* hotel. I think we could easily be converted from hotels to B&B stays after this one night 😁.
Would highly recommend to anyone considering a B&B staycation and having enjoyed our stay so much whilst during a pandemic we would have no hesitation in booking to stay again in the future and, if it’s possible, only improve upon our experience this time.

Best B&B ever. Avril was extremely welcoming and had thought of everything one could possibly need for an overnight stay. Homemade cakes on arrival were divine and the Ulster breakfast amazing. Room was incredibly spacious as was the bathroom and both had a fabulous rural view and all within a 20/30 mins drive from the docks.

I've never had such a great experience on a stay like in these 2 days at Peartree Hill. The host is really looking after you and wants to comfort you during the entire stay, never had such a quick and great service. The breakfast ingredients came from the local suppliers, which were always really high quality and freshly prepared; I can really recommend the pancakes with the Marple syrup at this point ;-) ! Especially the bed and pillows were really comfortable which will make you sleep through the entire night and morning. Since this experience, i would rather choose a bed & breakfast over a hotel, because you would never receive this intense care and attention or selection of high quality furniture or food in a comparable establishment.  We're looking forward for our next stay!

Too many things to write! The owners were extremely nice and helpful. They treated us like family!! The food was outstanding (best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had anywhere in the world!!). Great views. Loved the doors that fully opened and the setting to open from top. Great property!! We loved meeting Tilly and “the girls.” Would always stay there should we travel to Belfast again.

A luxurious countryside stay! Really nice personalised touches, slippers, bath robes, excellent coffee, dainty sweet condiments and much more. I loved the cooked breakfast and the option to join the rest of the guests for breakfast around the table. Avril our host was lovely to deal with and very helpful. And our bedroom view was absolutely Superb! We will definitely return but hopefully with more time to relax and enjoy our stay more.

Peartree Hill has recently won a very prestigious tourism award. This comes as no surprise to us whatsoever as it has to be the best place we have ever had the pleasure to stay at!

Avril is warm and welcoming, and a mine of local information. She also serves up the most wonderful breakfasts. 

We had 3 nights in the gorgeous Scrabo Suite with its beautiful views across the rolling countryside (Avril even provides binoculars). Absolutely everything you wish for is provided - I loved the Liz Earle products in the spotless bathroom.

What we particularly appreciated was the choice of being sociable or private during our stay. There's a guest lounge, and a communal breakfast table. However, polite conversation with strangers over breakfast is my husband's idea of hell so Avril will also serve you breakfast in your room if that's your preference (we also had a private entrance so we could come and go as we pleased).

I can't recommend this place highly enough, and would return in a heartbeat.

This was a fantastic break in five star luxury accommodation. Avril and Ian have thought of everything you could possibly need right down to the beautiful Elizabeth Earle shower products and hot water bottle if ever needed! The bed has to be one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in and we were blown away by the bottle of bubbly that was chilling in the fridge for my birthday. That meant such a lot Avril, thank you so much. Breakfast was amazing and being foodies ourselves, felt as if we were in a Michellin star restaurant.....Fabulous!!!!

Location is absolutely gorgeous and very close to where I needed to be. Good parking on site and the owner is lovely. The room was beautiful with an exceptional view of the countryside. Lots of little touches in the room to make my stay comfortable. Breakfast was exceptional!

I was thankfully treated to a stay at Peartree Hill for my birthday and I couldn't have enjoyed my stay more. Best place I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. Felt very welcome from the minute I arrived, beautiful rural surroundings, gorgeous home and the room was just amazing. So many little extras in the room also made the stay even more special. Loved the little handmade local soaps in the bathroom and the bath/shower products. The ensuite bathroom was to die for with a huge free standing bath and large walk in shower. Excellent breakfast menu with plenty of choices and the food was absolutely beautiful. Definitely recommend everyone to have a stay in Peartree. Didnt have the pleasure of meeting Ian but Avril was a superb host and great to chat too. Thank you for having me on your home and thank you for the Birthday card also.
